Lafazanis Winery, established in 1946 by Vasilis Lafazanis, is a historic and prestigious winery located in the Nemea region of Greece. Now managed by the third generation of the Lafazanis family, the winery has evolved significantly over the years. It originally began in Piraeus and later moved to its current location in the village of Archaies Kleones (ancient Cleonae) in Nemea. Lafazanis Winery is known for its commitment to quality and tradition, utilizing handpicked organic grapes from local varieties to produce their wines. The winery's facilities blend modern technology with traditional wine-making methods, and it's surrounded by 10 hectares of vineyards.
Description
Appearance: Deep ruby. Nose: Deep aromas of black fruits and green pepper, with a peppery mood. Smoky notes with vanilla and clove. Touches of dried tomato, mint and skin. Palate: Dry, with balanced acidity. Compact, velvety tannins and medium alcohol. Full-bodied with high taste intensity. Strong and long finish. Aromas of ripe and dried berries, plum and bilberry, green pepper and spicy spices. Traces of cream, tobacco and caramel. Closing with animal notes, sun-dried tomatoes and the character of fresh forest soil and mushrooms.
