Ktima Biblia Chora
The privately owned vineyards of the Estate are located at an altitude of 380m. and currently occupy an area of about 570 acres. The climate of the region is Mediterranean with mild winters and cool summers, influenced by the mountainous volume of Paggaio and the sea breeze of the Aegean Sea. The temperature difference between day and night is large, which helps the grapes to benefit beneficially slowly. The soil is stony, barren, calcareous, clayey, with good drainage. The cultivation of the vine is done according to the standards of organic agriculture, with great respect for the environment, the flora and fauna of the area, but also for the man himself. The varieties that are cultivated and vinified today at Ktima Books Chora are the Greek Assyrtiko, Agiorgitiko and Vidiano and the international Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Semillon, Gewürztraminer, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir. Also, an "unknown" local variety of Paggaio is cultivated, from which the Viblin Red and Wine Rose wines are produced. The results of its identification through its genetic characteristics and DNA testing showed that it is a Greek variety, which is not identified with any already existing.
